Tuun asumaan Chilen pääkaupungissa, 6 miljoonan asukkaan suurkaupungissa Santiagossa. Tulee siis olemaan pienoinen hyppäys. Täältä pienestä Tampereen läheltä löytyvästä kylästä nimeltä Hirsilä, kaupunkiin jossa on enemmän asukkaita kuin koko Suomen maassa. Käyn kylläkin koulua ja asun osittain Tampereella, mutta suhteessa sekään ei ole lopulta niin kovin suuri. Alueen nimi jossa tuun asumaan on Peñalolen, vuoriston puolella Santiagoa.
I will be living in Santiago, the capital of Chile which has 6 million inhabitants. It will be quite a leap from this small village called Hirsilä near Tampere, to a metropolis that has more inhabitants than there is in the whole of Finland. I do go to school and spend a lot of time in Tampere, but compared to Santiago Tampere isn't really that big either. The area I will be living in, is called Peñalolen, it's in the mountain side of Santiago.
School
En tiedä vielä koulustani kovin paljoa, mutta kerron kaiken mitä tiedän/ luulen tietäväni. Kouluni onn sama kuin host-perheeni lapsilla ja se on yksityiskoulu. Kaikkialla Chilessä (ainakin käsitykseni mukaan) on koulupuvut, eikä kouluni siis ole poikkeus. Uniformut ovat aika yksinkertaiset, tummansiniset ja ei mitkään kovin kamalat ainakaan kuulemani mukaan. Host-sisarukseni käyvät ilmeisesti toinen 10:ttä luokkaa ja toinen 12:tta luokkaa kun minä olen tietysti yksin 11:llä luokalla. Varmaan pidemmän päälle ihan hyväkin kun saa juuri omia kavereita, mutta en voi väittää ettei hieman jännittäisi. Kouluun kuljen kyydillä aamuisin ja pois tulen bussilla.
I don't know much about my school, but I shall tell you everything I know/ think I know. The school I will be attending to is the same school my host-siblings are in and it's a private school. Everywhere in Chile (as far as I know) there are school uniforms, and my school is no different. The uniforms are quite simple, dark blue and not that bad-looking, I've been told. My host sister and brother are apparently on the 10th and the 12th grade as I am on the 11th. I'm sure it's better in the long run, since I'll be able to make my own group of friends in my class, but i cannot say that I wouldn't be a little bit nervous. I will be driven to school in the morning and I will come back by buss in the afternoon.
Family
En voi vielä kertoa vielä hostieni nimiä ennen kuin olen kysynyt heidän lupaansa, mutta kerron kaikki muut perustiedot. Mulla tulee olemaan kolme sisarusta, kaksi siskoa ja yksi veli. Host-veljeni on vuotta nuorempi, -98 syntynyt siis. Nuorempi siskoistani on saman ikäinen kuin minä, -97-syntynyt ja hän oli juuri vuoden 2013-2014 Suomessa ja on nyt palannut takaisin Chileen. Vanhempi siskoni on syntynyt luullakseni vuonna -94. Olen enimmäkseen puhunut (whatsapissa) tämän Suomessa olleen siskoni kanssa, hän on on ollut aivan mahtava ja vaikuttaa niin ihanalta ja hauskalta ihmiseltä. Vaikka en ole tavannut tyttöä, voisin jo helposti kuvitella hänet siskokseni. Koko perhe on ollut upea toivottaessaan mut tervetulleeksi kotiinsa. On ihan totaalisen hullua ajatella että tapaan heidät kaikki jo alle viikon päästä!
I can't tell you the names of my host-family members yet, before I have their permission, but I shall tell you the basic information. I will have three siblings, two sisters and one brother. My host-brother is one year younger than me, he is born the year -98. Younger host-sister is the same age as me, born in -97 and she has just spent her exchange year 2013-2014 in Finland and has now returned back to Chile. Older sister is born in the year -94, I believe. I have mainly spoken (via whatsapp) to the sister who is my age and was here in Finland and she has been absolutely amazing and seems like such a sweet and fun person. Even though I haven't met her I could easily already imagine her as my sister. The whole family has been amazing to welcome me in their home and making me feel like I'm wanted there. It's crazy to think that I'll be meeting them all in person in less than a week!
